Making better decisions about digital technology in education

Schools worldwide are embracing new technologies, but practical challenges persist. To transform education, technology needs to connect with pedagogy and change knowledge.

Nesta is hosting an interactive event that seeks to address several key questions facing digital education:

  • How can teachers and product developers work together to identify the best digital innovations for learning?
  • How can we evaluate the value and effectiveness of digital innovations in education?
  • How can innovative technologies and pedagogies be scaled up?

Education experts Prof Michael Fullan and Maria Langworthy will share experiences and lessons from their influential reports ‘Alive in the Swamp‘ (published by Nesta) and ‘A rich seam: How new pedagogies find deep learning’ (to be released on 22 January). The audience will be invited to join in discussions chaired by Sir Michael Barber, chief education advisor of Pearson.
