The mission of Lietuvos Junior Achievement (LJA) is to educate and inspire Lithuanian youth to value free enterprise, understand economics and business, and to foster initiative, entrepreneurship and leadership skills.
LJA is a non-profit NGO. The organisation’s main activities are providing economic and business education to students, developing and publishing teaching materials, running training courses and seminars for teachers, and organising national and international events for students and teachers.
LJA’s mission is to educate and inspire Lithuanian youth to value free enterprise, understand economics and business, and to foster initiative, entrepreneurship and leadership skills.
More than 20,000 students from Lithuanian schools participated in JAL programmes in the 2010/2011 academic year. The geographical reach of the education programmes covers the whole country – students from more than 250 schools, from 120 Lithuanian cities, have the opportunity to participate in its business and entrepreneurship education programs. All schools participate in the programmes on a voluntary basis. LJA is a member of the JA-YE Europe network.
Junior Achievement of Lithuania prepares and prints educational materials, organises teachers’ preparation seminars and educational activities for students. LJA’s focus is not only theoretical, but provides students with a direct connection to the business world through the creation of student businesses, lessons prepared by volunteer business consultants, computer simulations, and other national and international educational events.
