CENTRES - Creative Entrepreneurship in Schools (Poland)

How does this pilot fit with the curriculum – how do the pupils benefit?

Patronage over the CENTRES project in Poland has been assumed by: Ministry of National Education and Centre for Education Development.


Aims of the pilot programme:

- enhancing the competencies related to innovation and entrepreneurship in students (mainly lower and upper secondary school ones),

- integrating student activities with the creative industry, which promotes talent, a passion for learning, imagination, creativity and entrepreneurship,

- practical process walk-through: from idea to implementation

Success criteria:

- students learning business mechanisms

- creating a business plan for the project

- getting partners/sponsors for implementation of a local project by the group

- preparing a report containing description of the activity

- obtaining knowledge on why we did or did not succeed

- the feeling of satisfaction that personal/student activities contributed to integrating the local community

Age group

12-19

There were various projects, but they all were connected with the creative industries.

Among many others students were involved in the following areas: photography, film, music, designing location-based games, organization of business ventures. They prepared performances, festivals, recorded CDs, worked on exhibitions and art shows, participated in classes on handicraft, art and sculpture, and created a product’s brand.

The students acquired the following skills thanks to the project:

  • creative thinking,

  • project planning, organisation and management,
  • seeking the best solutions,
  • risk assessment,
  • team cooperation,
  • self-assessment,
  • solving problems and coping with difficult situations,
  • compromise,
  • sharing knowledge and experience,

  • self-presentation
  • listening to others,
  • putting knowledge into practice.
