The creative industries and the creative economy are still often seen as limited to the arts and the creative sector. When this happens, the multi-disciplinary and the cross-sectoral approach—a key concept of the creative economy that is irrespective of specific fields—does not come to fruition.

Creative Economy and Beyond – Insights from Finland is a sharp overview of the background and future of creative economy in Finland.

The publication is produced by Creative Industries Finland in co-operation with the Ministry of Culture and Education and the Ministry of Employment and Economy.
The value and meaning of creative industries is already widely recognized. The publication provides a background for a phenomenon. It defines the core concepts of creative economy and discusses the changes in social, cultural and economic structures that have led to the change. Publication also represents national initiatives, support and funding instruments and other interesting cases concerning creative economy development work in Finland.
